MITO space

At MITGEST, we believe complex science is best communicated through compelling stories. That is why a group of passionate doctoral candidates created Mitola and the Mito-verse. This imaginative comic book brings mitochondrial science to life in a fun and accessible way.

The story follows Sam, a young girl with mitochondrial disease, who is eager to understand her condition. Sam embarks on an adventure into the mysterious world of mitochondria, where she meets Mitola, a friendly mitochondrion. Together, they explore the intricacies of how mitochondria work – and what happens when they don’t – making challenging concepts easy to grasp.

Through vibrant visuals and engaging storytelling, Mitola and the Mito-verse simplifies the science behind mitochondrial function and dysfunction. This comic book is more than just entertainment—it’s a creative tool that sparks curiosity, fosters learning, and makes science accessible to all.
