The MITGEST consortium is pleased to announce its 3rd Training Week, taking place from 7–12 July 2025 at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBB PAS) in Warsaw, Poland. Hosted by IBB, this week-long event promises an energising programme of research updates, scientific exchange, and career development.
At the heart of the training week are the presentations by MITGEST’s Doctoral Candidates (DCs), who will share their latest research progress and receive feedback from peers and project partners. These sessions provide an opportunity to reflect on achievements, sharpen communication skills, and strengthen collaborations across the network.
The week also features guest lectures by experts in mitochondrial biology and molecular research, alongside a dedicated career path session on “Working in Science: Industry vs. Academia.” This session will include testimonials and insights from professionals who have navigated both sectors, offering practical guidance to early-career researchers.
Highlights of the week include:
- A half-day Proposal Writing Workshop led by accelopment, offering valuable tips and strategies for writing competitive grant applications.
- A 5-day Bioinformatics Summer School, designed to build computational skills essential for modern life science research.
- A 5-day “Business for Science” workshop by CRAC/Vitae, using interactive tools like the Enterprise Lens on the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF). Through career stories and case studies, participants will explore how to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and apply them in diverse research settings.
The 3rd MITGEST Training Week will once again combine scientific depth with professional development, ensuring that DCs are well equipped for the next steps in their research and career journeys.
