Euromit 2026 will take place from 31 May – 4 June at the Convention Centre in Angers, France. Held every three years, this leading international congress dedicated to mitochondrial disease research brings together more than 850 scientists, clinicians and stakeholders from across the globe.

This year, nine MITGEST doctoral candidates will participate to present their latest project results during poster sessions:

  • Eve Harding (DC2) on “mtDNA stability alters the mito-nuclear crosstalk through calcium homeostasis”
  • Dory Vergallo (DC3) on “Unravelling the complexities of nascent mitochondrial RNA”
  • Maria Nino (DC4) on “Advancing the Analysis of Mitochondrial Gene Expression using Large-Pore Native Gel Electrophoresis”
  • Giulia Santonoceto (DC5) on “Identification of new factors and regulatory mechanisms of mitochondrial RNA surveillance”
  • Daria Kovalchuk (DC06) on “Coupling translation termination to RNA surveillance: roles of release factors in quality control and RNA degradation pathways in mammalian mitochondria”
  • Seungtae Lee (DC7) on “Perturbed Mitochondrial-Cholesterol Crosstalk in an Alzheimer Disease Cell Model”
  • Rebecca Lasalandra (DC8) on “Identification of a novel mtDNA maintenance factor”
  • Melisa Süner (DC9) on “Targeting of nucleic acid drugs: a new mitochondrial RNA therapeutic strategy”
  • Angela Frimpong (DC11) on “2-deoxy-D-glucose augments mitochondria and remodels nutrient metabolism in vivo”
